Ensure the following are discontinued or transferred:

  • Water, gas & electricity service
  • Fuel & oil
  • Phone & internet
  • Grocery deliveries

Ensure you notify the following of a change of address:

  • The bank
  • The electoral office
  • Children’s school
  • The post office
  • Department of Transport
  • Insurance company
  • Hire purchase companies
  • Any companies you have accounts with

Housekeeping:

  • Drain fueled from mowers & other equipment
  • Clean out bathroom cabinets (medicine, hygiene products, etc.)
  • Defrost your fridge

What NOT to do:

  • Don’t pack perishable goods
  • Don’t place fragile items in drawers
  • Don’t overload drawers and cabinets with clothes, linen, etc.

JR Removals Mackay CANNOT store or transport the following:

  • Paint cans
  • Turpentine
  • Petrol
  • Aerosols
  • Chemicals
  • Linseed oil
  • Firearms & ammunition
  • Kerosene

Final touches:

  • Look around for anything left behind
  • Ensure all taps are turned off
  • Return old house keys
  • Turn off all power & light switches
  • Turn off water heater
